Emergency room. Oh, how I thought, almost KNEW it would be Ali. But nope, Emma beat her to it. The sad part is it all happened because of Emma's new, bright pink, treasured, can't-ride-it-enough bike. Haha, that's right a bike crash landed her in the ER with a broken arm. Can you see the break? It's a doozy.
For you x-ray illiterates out there (like me) it's in the middle of her arm. See how the bone bows? Yeah, it's not supposed to do that. That's bad. They had to sedate the poor girl to set the bone...twice! Ouch.
Luckily Dave took her to the University of Utah where not only did she not have to wait, she was extremely spoiled and doted upon. She was there for 4 hours (which is REALLY fast for everything she had to get done) and never once had an empty room. There were always well-wishers from the staff in there. She even had one of the EMTs (one of our dear friends) sneaking her milk and girl scout cookies. I have to say, Emma, considering the circumstances, did really well. She was super brave and tough. And maybe a little silly. Morphine will do that to you. Oh, did it make her talkative. She was often telling three stories at once.
Today she is tired and hurting a bit but excited to get her cast on tomorrow.
She is hoping for light blue but said she will settle for purple. Love this kid. Nothing can keep her down.

Oh dear me! Poor Emma what a little nut! I sure hope she heals quickly and let me know if I can be of any help!
Nice benefit of working the ER for so many years huh?
