- Oatmeal for breakfast. This is a new obsession. About a week ago I decided to try gagging some down because its low cal, full of fiber and very filling. I ended up loving it. Every night when I go to bed I get really excited for my 1/2 cup of oatmeal with a little sprinkle of brown sugar and a diced strawberry. Mmmmm.
- Babies learning how to move. Ali is so funny to watch these days. She is really figuring out how to get where she wants. She rolls and does a very fast army crawl. Emma and Howie are not loving her new sense of mobility. If she spies either of them she will wiggle on over and grab hold. She just loves them both so much. Em and Howie will both cry and scream until I come release them. She will also get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth before she face plants because she can't figure out how to move her hands.
- The conference addition of the Ensign. I learn best by reading. When I would luck out and get a professor who taught straight out of the book I always got an easy A. I love to study the conference talks with a pen and highlighter in hand. They inspire me to do better and do more. Like President Eyring said, "We must do better. We can. And we will." The talks fill me with hope.
- Emma's freckles. They scatter across her nose and highlight her pretty green eyes. I especially love how she crinkles her nose and freckles when she giggles. It melts my heart every time. I think she knows because she is starting to use it to get out of trouble.
- Listening to Norah Jones in the dark. So soothing.
- When Dave calls me from work. His co-workers make fun of him because he calls so often. He knows it makes my day though. I hate when he has busy, busy days and isn't able to sneak in his quick phone calls home.

I usually have to get two copies of the conference issue so I can write in one, and have a nice one to sit on the coffee table....
Isn't it wonderful that the things we love the most, are the simple things?
Thanks for sharing Britt! I love reading your blog...
Jessica
I loved reading these things Britt, and loved that you like to listen to norah jones in the dark too, I love doing that as I go to bed!
I loved this post...to go along with the theme...hehe. I love watching babies learn to move. It cracks me up when Grey lays on his back and his limbs are moving as fast as they possibly can, but he isn't "traveling," as Brock puts it. Emma's freckles are dang cute and I'm going to start listening to Norah Jones in the dark. I like her, but it sounds like it's a whole new experience with the lights off. :)
things I luv....reading your blog!
Matt and I always talk constantly when he's gone, too. I always wonder if the people around him - whether it be at work or school or whatever - think I'm some demanding wife or something! We just like to talk!
Oatmeal is the best! I like it when I can spoon it out on a bite of toast - Adam thinks it's wierd....I think it's tastey! I too am amazed by babies, they can do absolutely nothing and still captivate everyones attention. This was a fun post. It made me think of the simple things I enjoy in life.
I am much like you infact when I am home, I never wear my good clothes because they just get dirty or worn out! Kids have the cutest imaginations though and I enjoy seeing her take on the roll of "mommy" (correct or not) with her dolls. As for the shoes, honestly, I find most of them at the dollar store! I've gotten some elsewhere too but I'd rather pay a buck if I can! What can I say, she's happy and I dont break the bank.
I love.... How positive of a person you are Britt! You are the person that everyone would want and need, rooting them on!
You brighten my days with the rays of sunshine that you exuberate through your words!
Hugs to you!
I love those things too. Also, I was thinking of what you said about oatmeal, and I was wondering if you have ever tried sprouting. I think you would love it! It makes me feel so healthy eating them!
